Aparthotel Playa Mar
The smart Aparthotel Playa Mar is in a great spot tucked between mountains and the sea, and offers memorable family holidays with great scenery, great beaches nearby and a whole lot of fun going on as well. Situated a few steps from Puerto Pollensa’s waterfront and sprinkled with little sandy coves. The beautiful resort centre and its main beach with its huge golden sands is a mere twenty minute stroll away, by following a cobbled path that snakes along the shoreline between pretty pine trees. And if you don’t fancy walking, there are plenty of buses and cabs to run you there and back.
The Playa Mar centres on the huge swimming pool which is styled like a cloverleaf with one leaf set aside for the younger guests, its set into big terraces that’s sprinkled with sun beds and palms.
To keep the children entertained the hotels runs their own kids club, while adults can get their share of me time as well, with a small indoor pool and gym. Also, planned for 2011 is a new building containing a Kids' Club, crèche, Splash Park and entertainment theatre.
In the food stakes, you’ve got the poolside snack bar that serves a mouth watering selection of light bites and refreshing drinks, plus a smart buffet restaurant rustling up all the Spanish and English favourites for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The rooms, meanwhile, tick all the boxes for an outdoorsy holiday with the kids – they’re simple and bright. And you can book studios or one-bedroom apartments with kitchenettes for a little more independence.
