Warsaw was founded in 1374 and is now established as Poland’s capital city and the largest city in the country. It is located on the River Vistula and the “old town “has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage site. The river splits Warsaw into two halves namely the right and left banks. Most tourist attractions are found on the left bank though the right bank contains the increasingly fashionable Praga district. Warsaw is the economic, cultural and educational centre of the country and has four universities to choose from.
The city as a vibrant nightlife with plenty of clubs, bars, restaurants and theatres, coupled with cheap Hotels and apartments, this has seen Warsaw grow in popularity as a city break destination. Warsaw is served by Warsaw Frederic Chopin Airport and is hub to many low cost cheap flight airlines. The city has a mass transit transport system that includes, streetcars, buses, metro and rail links throughout the city.
