Split is the second largest city in Croatia and is located in the Dalmatia region, situated on a peninsula on the eastern shores of the Adriatic. The inner city has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Split is one of the main centres of Croatian culture and there are two important archaeological museums to visit, the most popular site being Diocletian’s Palace. The city has a great affinity with popular music being home to many of the most influential musicians in former Yugoslavia. It annually holds two prestigious festivals for music and theatre. Split has a fantastic array of marinas and numerous ferries connect the city to nearby islands that include Brac, Hvar and Solta.

There are plenty of restaurants serving local cuisine which is considered to be one of the healthiest in the world, with quality fish and meat specialities available for your gastronomic delight! Split is an important transport centre for the Dalmatia region with all the traffic along the Adriatic coast flowing through the city.
