Pyha Ski Holidays - Resort Guide

Pyha is located in the heart of the Finnish Lapland, just above the artic circle within the Pyhatunturi National Park. Pyha offers some excellent scenery and has a reputation for some of the toughest skiing in Finland. One of the great features of Pyha, for those lucky enough to experience it, is an amazing view of the northern lights, which can be seen from the resort. Although Pyha is one of the smaller resorts in Finland, it does have a training area for the Finnish Freestyle skiing team and has actually hosted the Finnish Alpine skiing championships since the 1960’s.

Beginners- Pyha is a great resort for beginners to learn the basics and gain confidence in skiing. The uncrowded pistes are ideal for novice skiers to avoid one another and the English-speaking ski school will have you skiing confidently in no time.

Intermediate - Pyha offers ideal, immaculately groomed pistes, which help to improve technique for the experienced skier.

Advanced – With excellent snow conditions throughout the season Pyha will provide challenging runs and great vertical drops for extreme skiers.

Snowboarders – Freestyle snowboarders will certainly enjoy the runs and challenges that Pyha has to offer and along with the half pipe riders will find some excellent off-piste areas to enjoy.

Après ski – Pyha certainly has some great entertainment in its lively bars, offering live music from Finnish pop to international rock and open till late in the evening. Other activities available in Pyha include ice-skating and ice fishing. You can also visit the Amethyst mine or a take a trip to Santa’s grotto.

Transfers – Pyha is situated approximately 1hr and 30mins from Rovaniemi.
