Puerto de Santiago Holidays - Travel Guide

Puerto de Santiago is a resort on Tenerife's west coast just south of its near neighbour Los Gigantes.

The west coast of Tenerife is blessed with arguably the best climate in the Canary Islands making it the perfect destination for anyone looking for a little sun, sea and sand. In the summer months the temperature hovers consistently around the 30 celsius mark and only dips a little in September. Holidays in Puerto de Santiago find you situated close to the imposing Los Gigantes cliffs, the most recognised landmark of western Tenerife.

Along the coast the two neighbouring resorts of Los Gigantes and Playa de la Arena are similarly geared toward the relaxing beachside experience that is offered by Puerto de Santiago holidays. Puerto de Santiago Holidays offer a quiet, understated atmosphere at a tranquil Spanish pace. When not laying back on the beach you can take a stroll around the picturesque surroundings of the region or take a boat trip from the marina at Los Gigantes to see the whales and dolphins that swim in the coastal waters.

A big attraction of Puerto de Santiago Holidays is the opportunity to enjoy hours of sunshine in the pleasant surroundings and to spend time by the Ocean. Tapas is another typically Spanish dish but there's plenty of choice for the less adventurous. Take a trip to Santiago del Teide to sample some classic Canarian wines and cheeses.

The landscape of Tenerife is generally quite hilly and Holidays in Puerto de Santiago prove no exception. Bus services take people around the resorts and further afield around the island. Walking around Puerto de Santiago you'll soon get your bearings, as the resort is not particularly large, although you should consider that the temperatures in the summer do get quite hot and there will usually be one or two slopes on your journey.

The typical transfer times from the Reina Sofia International Airport to Puerto de Santiago can take between 1 - 1.5 hours by Airport taxi. Coach transfers are likely to take a little longer.
