Monarch Airlines is one of the United Kingdom’s largest airlines offering scheduled and chartered flights. Founded in 1967 Monarch Airlines have progressed and now fly all around the globe with destinations to Europe, Africa and India to the USA and the Caribbean, also in the winter they operate a Ski charter service to Calgary in Canada. In 1985 Monarch applied to run a scheduled service and this was inaugurated in 1986 when Monarch Crown Services became the scheduled division of Monarch and in 2002 Monarch Crown Services introduced a new livery and was renamed Monarch Scheduled.

With the introduction of low cost airlines such as EasyJet or Ryanair, Monarch Scheduled adopted a low – cost cheap flight policy maintaining popular services such as in-flight entertainment to set it apart from its competitors. Monarch Scheduled now operates routes to most of Europe’s favourite holiday destinations such as Almeira, Ibiza or Larnaca and in 2006 were voted “leisure airline of the year.”
