A Brief History Of The Globespan Group

The Globespan Holidays Group began its operations over 30 years ago, selling package holidays from Airports in Scotland. In 2002, Globespan Holidays founded its own budget airline, Flyglobespan. Flyglobespan has since adopted the title "Scotland's Low Fares Airlineā. Flyglobespan (herein Globespan) currently has a fleet of over 20 modern and well-equipped aircraft operating from numerous Airports in the UK.
The Origins Of Globespan Holidays And The Birth Of Flyglobespan
The Globespan Holidays Group portfolio originally consisted of scheduled Flights and charter Flights, rail and coach travel and Hotels serving destinations in North America and Spain. Globespan Holidays acted as the booking agent selling scheduled Flights under its own brand from a number of Airports throughout the UK. Globespan Holidays went on to use a similar formula with cheap Flights from Edinburgh to various destinations in France. In 2003 Globespan Holidays began operating under the Flyglobespan banner with growing success.
The Growing Success Of The Globespan Holidays Group
In 2004 Globespan Holidays group bought the defunct airline Cougar Leasing and gained a CAA Aircraft Operating Certificate as part of the deal. Globespan Holidays subsequently expanded their operations to include additional destinations in Europe. Despite stiff competition in the low cost airfare market Globespan Holidays continue to show increased profits and are maintaining their growth into new markets. Globespan Holidays were named Airline of the Year 2005 by BAA Scotland and look set to maintain their successful expansion.
