Jersey European Airways re-branded their name in 2000 to British European Airways but shortened the name in 2002 to the now familiar Flybe to create a full service low fare airline. Flybe acquired the former regional airline business of British Airways, this significantly increasing Flybe route network throughout the UK and Europe, enhancing Flybe,s cheap flight operations.
