The Courmayeur Ski resort is situated among the dramatic scenery of the Aosta Valley, beneath the imposing outline of Mont Blanc. Full of wonderful traditional Italian character, there is a relaxed and picturesque charm to the resort of Courmayeur. Italy typically has a Ski season that runs from December to late March, but in the Aosta Valley region the massive peaks enjoy good snow conditions throughout much of the year.
Courmayeur skiing presents numerous off-piste opportunities, spread over an area of approximately 50km, along with around 100km of varied piste. Runs range from gentle nursery slopes to massive challenging downhill runs, including the best known 20km descent that leads down to the resort of Chamonix in France. Courmayeur itself has a beautiful traditional style with grand architecture and attractive cobbled streets.

Skiing in Courmayeur is suitable for every level of ability. The lower tree-lined runs are a great place for novice skiers to gain confidence, while the higher slopes offer some fantastic runs for more experienced skiers. Advanced and expert skiers will find some incredible challenges on the off piste terrain. Hotels in Courmayeur can accommodate a range of budgets from simple bed and breakfast to luxurious establishments with fitness centres and outdoor hot tubs within the hotel. Courmayeur is also well known for the quality of the cafés, shops and restaurants within the pedestrian centre, which is a great place to take an evening stroll.
