Cape Point is located on the Southern tip at the mouth of the River Gambia on the Atlantic coast. The location is such that dramatic views of the coast and River are plentiful. Dotted with low-rise hotels, a handful of friendly restaurants of all persuasions. Its beach boasts soft, white sand, beach bars and cafes.

The atmosphere here can be described as traditional and laid back; this relaxed vibe spreads onto the wonderful stretch of pale sandy beach which attracts sunseekers from all around. Approximately 1km from Cape Point is the traditional African town of Bakau, with its small, roadside craft market and the famous Katchikally crocodile pool.

Cape Point has become a livelier tourist area with the opening of a couple of larger hotels and there is a craft market, supermarket in the hotel and a couple of bars and restaurants just a few minutes walk away.

From Cape Point, a trip up-river into Gambia brings you through mangrove creeks and ancient villages, where you can experience all the tastes, sights and sounds that a West African country has to offer.
