Belfast has been the capital of Northern Ireland since 1920 and was first granted city status in 1888 by Queen Victoria. Since the millennium, Belfast has seen a huge increase in popularity as a city break destination with tremendous growth in the local economy. The city is located on the River Lagan and was home to one of the world’s largest shipbuilders “Harland & Wolff “builders of the ill fated Titanic.
